Jim and Krista Acuff with their three children, founders of AI Scholars Lab

Meet the founders

Jim & Krista Acuff.

Jim and Krista Acuff are the husband-and-wife team behind AI Scholars Lab. Jim spent his career as a Fortune 50 executive and big-tech leader, while Krista has devoted hers to the classroom, helping students of every kind thrive. As parents raising three neurodivergent kids, they've seen up close how powerful, and how risky, AI can be when students are handed the tools without the judgment to use them well.

That gap is exactly why they built AI Scholars Lab: a program grounded in safety, integrity, inclusion, and critical thinking, where students learn real-world AI skills alongside the confidence and human dignity to use them responsibly. Their mission is simple, help students, parents, and schools get ready for the future of work and technology, together.
